How did you use media technologies in the construction, research and planning and evaluation stages?
In terms of the research and planning stage of my of my media production I mainly used online software such as prezi, this was an online presentation software that helped for me to illustrate and explain each stage of research and planning, such as my development of my ancillary tasks, through animations, pictures, slides, GIFs and videos. Another digital technology I used was Microsoft Powerpoint, this was another piece of presentation software that allowed me to present my research and planning in a different way as doing it all through Prezi could become boring. After creating them on Powerpoint I would proceed to upload them to Authorstream which wold allow me to embed them onto my blog using blogger which was another technology I used. This was to present all of my work on a single platform.
For research I also used online tutorials on websites like Youtube, Adobe.TV and Linda.com these websites allowed for me to learn new techniques for the software I used in my construction stages.
As well as using this hardware I also used multiple different software to construct and edit the film, the one I used most was Adobe Premier Pro, I used this for mainly editing the trailer so that each video clip and sound clip has been cut to the right length and is in the right position for the trailer. This was essentially for editing the timeline for our film, as well as doing this I also used Premier Pro to create the smaller, simpler titles within the film. Within this software I also used some video and audio effects on the film trailer for doing things like slightly colour grading the film to make it look more cinematic.
Another digital technology that contributed highly to the construction stage of my film is Adobe After Effects, because of the fact that the two pieces of software I used were from Adobe it meant that it was easy to integrate what I've made in After Effects to Premier Pro through using the 'dynamic link' feature. After Effects was mainly used in my production as the software for the more advanced editing such as creating and animating the film title or for changing the colours of certain objects to display the change in reality.
A further technology I used for helping with my media production was Garageband, this is a Mac OS exclusive piece of sound editing software, this is what used to create the entire soundtrack to my film as well as what I used for things like sound effects. Garageband helped to make the music as it had the 'loops' feature which provided sample sounds that you mash up and use to create music. As well as these you could also use key-frames to change the volume of separate instruments which allowed for me to create smoother transitions within the sounds.
When creating my ancillary tasks I used Adobe Photoshop as this is a good photo editing software that allows me do things like enhance colours, insert text, add in images and a lot of different ways to edit pictures. This was essential for when I created my poster and magazine as these required me to add in lots of texts with different fonts, colours, sizes ad strokes. It also allowed me to edit photos for example on my magazine I was able to remove all colour and just leave the orange of the jumpsuit to emphasise the character.
Some final digital technology I used in the production stage was social media such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Youtube. These all allowed me to market my film to the target audience through posting various different updates.
For the construction stages of my media production I used various software and hardware. For example when filming my film trailer I used a Sony camcorder with a separate microphone for recording the narration in the background. As well as this another piece of hardware I used was the Mac, this was good to use as it contained all the software I needed to create my media production.
For the evaluation of my media production I mainly used I mainly used WIX to create this website that has links to various pages answering each questions. However, as well as this I also did look up tutorials on Youtube to discover all the features of the website. I also provided links to Prezi and embedded videos from Youtube.
